OUR PROJECTS

National Finals Music Festival

For the very first time, children from Unity school have qualified for the National Finals and they now have the chance to travel to the music festival and compete against other schools from across Kenya.

For some of the children, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to travel as a school group, and take part in a residential trip is not a chance they would normally expect.  Even the menu for the trip is a cause for great excitement, especially if at home you are not guaranteed a meal each day.

To get these children to the music festival, we need to raise over £3000 to pay for transport, accommodation, and food - but if we can do this, 80 children and 6 staff will set out on a new path.

If you can help us make this happen, please use the link below to donate via our just giving campaign.  Every pound donated will really make a difference.

Classroom Project

Thanks to a very generous legacy, we were able to construct a new block of classrooms, which became operational in 2019.

The new block was built with 5 ground floor classrooms and the foundations were designed and built to enable second and third floors to be added at some time in the future.

In 2023, 3 classrooms were erected on the first floor and in 2024 work started on the last 2 classrooms.

Thanks to everyone who supported us and made it possible to finish and furnish these classrooms

Medical Programme

Dr Luke.png

When the team first visited Mombasa, they were astonished to see the poor appearance of the children, who had ulcers on their legs, ring worm and skin infections.

The children had cuts on their feet, no shoes, and they were hungry as well.  The team set out to establish a medical program with a local doctor and this continues today.

There are often local outbreaks of disease and we need your help to keep providing this medical care.

All the children receive a hot, substantial meal every day at the school. This is often the only main meal they eat – and the effects are striking.

Before we started the feeding programme, many of the children were under nourished and  found it difficult to concentrate or learn in class.

Now, thanks to the feeding programme, the children are able to learn more effectively, but we need your support to keep providing this meal.
