mikes day 9
Wed 26th October - 6.15pm by Mike Jones
Today has to have been without a doubt my faviroute day! after another usual start with the exception of a little bit of a lie in, we headed off to haller park, as nauture reserve. When the kids arived it was planned that we would paint things on their hands and arms, like hearts or lions, i also decided to get my arm painted and spoorted a very fetching unicorn on my right arm which i was very proud of. the park its self was very interesting, we saw cros and snakes and monkeys ( and if like me you had a postive atidute to wards monkeys, after spending more than 10 mins in one's presence you will feel difrently ). the kids also seemed to have a great time, i found it shocking how these kids hadnt seen any of these creatures before evan though they inhabit the same country, and being able to share the experiance with them was magical. i have just finshed atempting to haggle with the maasai which to put it simply is alot harder than bartering with the granny's at the car boot sale at the green.
any ways its been great being able to chat to you, speak soon!
lots of love to mum and dad xx

Hi Mike, YOu sound to have had a fantastic day today. What a wonderful treat for the African children too, who as you say don't normally get to those places. Keep up the good work - hope the sting in your foot is o.k. Much love Grandma

I am presuming you did your blog before your encounter with the puffer fish.It reminded me of the last time you were stung in Bournemouth it sounds like Mr Shaw and Mrs Riggs dealt with the situation better than I did do you remember? but I bet you didn't get a ride in a beach buggy.I must admit initially I did panic, frantically,,searching the net remembering hearing deadly and puffer fish in the same sentance.I hope it is not too painful and any concerns please tell the Mr Straw straight away.Today sounds wonderful I hope you have taken lots of pictures.Did your haggling result in any purchases? Please be careful I find it difficult not being there to look after you but know you are in safe hands
Night God Bless
All my love

Great blog today mike- some good lines. Love the concept of a haggle-off; broadwater boot sale grannies vs the Maasai. ... "There's only one way to find out".... My guess is that it would be close call but the Maasai would be edged out in the "selling a cert 18 dvd to a minor" round ;). Keep up the blogging and steer clear of dead fish. Love dad.
