ben's tenth day Kenya 2011

Thu 27th October - 1.20pm by Ben Tanner

heyy everyone!!!

Today was another hard day at Victory school, we had so much to do as their were lots of lessons going on.

We left at quater to eight and were at the school by ten past eight. I took Kindertgarden and read them a story by a boy who goes to our school it was called the " Heaven Flower." They loved it and they were talking about it all day!!!

I then took PE with Mr Chessmur and we did sprinting. So we showed them how to do a sprint start and seperated them into four countries where they would compete against each other. :)

So that is it from today so sleep tight and peace out! :)

Hey Ben! Who would of thought you would make a teacher eh? Sounds like your enjoying it though and enjoying the childrens company. Have to admit that I did have a little chuckle at the thought of you trying to teach sprinting of all things but I bet you had lots of fun?! Glad the weather is hot for you there as it is lousy back here and raining most of the time at the moment. Myself, Tom and Liz have all had heavy colds so we are feeling sorry for ourselves at the moment??!! Have to admit that I'm really looking forward to seeing you but obviously want you to enjoy the rest of your trip so make the most of the rest of the days you have there. Anyway im going to 'busha' now. Love ya mate!! Dad,Liz,Tom & Sammy

Mambo Ben!

Sounds like you hve had a lot of fun today although I dont fancy running around in that heat! Hope you are drinking lots of water. Just a note....I will NOT be happy if you come home with a mongoose (or anything living except memories!) A career in teaching perhaps although Miss Rigggs seems to think you would make a great photographer. I have just looked the the photos that have been posted and there is one of you teaching! Wow, one to print off. The photos of the children are adorable. All fine here, as your Dad has said the weather is horrid & gloomy. Yes we are happy to sponsor Victor. It would be great if you could get a few photos of him.
Not long to go now until you are home although I am really going to miss the daily blogs (will have to start watching Eastenders again!!!)
Anyway that me for tonight but goes without saying that I love you, proud of you & miss you.

Hi Ben,
I have been reading your daily blogs along with all the others. What an amazing experience. I imagine it would make you very humble being invited to see where they live. I got to see a similar experience recently in Bangladesh so have an idea of what it must have been like. At least you can feel like you have made a difference and a contribution to the school. This half term has been very quiet without you to drag Jim out of the house.
Enjoy the rest of your stay, look forward to seeing you when you get back.
Clare xx
