today has been really fun it was my first day of teaching a whole lesson and it went really well they all seemed to understand the lesson and all enjoyed it because they useally get given a ball and are told to run around where as we had a structured lesson for them.
i also sat in on one of billys lesson about expressionism i think i achually learnt alot from his lesson
day 6:
today we went to the beach and for a walk through woods whichhad a huge thing of mosques and we were lucky to not meet the black mamba snake and tried some skanky fruit. i also woke up nice and early, scoghed my breakfast and blanked everyone for about 3 and a half hours to watch the dissapointing result of the rugby though new zeland deserved to win: :)

Went back to sleep. Woken by Dad phoning at 7.00 am wanting to know if there were blogs. He tried to look himself but typed Mombasa wrong and got a very embarrasing result (I can't go into details on here!) Decided a lay in wasn't going to happen and got up. Haven't seen rain like today's for a long time. Even got flood warnings for here although we seem to be ok. When rain appeared to be easing off we decided to walk into Noss Mayo (the short way). Within minutes of leaving the rain came down....in buckets! Obviously in Harrison fashion the brolly was in the car (which we weren't in) and coats were in the cottage. Nevertheless, we were not deterred. Arrived in Noss Mayo looking like drowned rats and laughed at a pub sign for a husband creche-leave your hubby at the pub and buy him a pint while you go shopping in peace :o) The man there told us the shops were the other side of the river in Newton Ferrers. The quickest way to get there was at low tide on the little footpath that went accross the river bed. As we departed he warned us that we only had an hour before the tide came in after which we would have to walk back the long way. We heeded the advice and managed to just get back before the water once again lapped over the path and made it unsafe to cross. By now we were even soggier and decided a traditional Devonshire cream tea was in order....all I can say is 'delicious.' Despite taking as long as possible in the vain hope the rain would stop it just came down harder and faster and eventually with no excuse to linger any longer we departed for home. On the way back we saw the unusual sight of a beehive which had been partially destroyed perhaps by a badger trying to get the honey. It was low down in the bank at the side of the road and lots of the honey comb was over the raod and there were a few bees desperately crawling about trying to repair the damage.
Back at the cottage Charlie became obsessed with wanting to play monopoly which I played with him while the others went swimming.....3 hrs later I finally had him beat. The only trouble was I realised too late that I should have let him win as he is now determined to play again, and again until he wins...arghhhhh!
Lovely ham risotto and apple crumble with custard for tea...yummy.
Question for the day: How many flies will we kill tomorrow?
Well done with your teaching, it sounds like you did well.
Love you and miss you
